CCMTA Scholarships & Awards

The Don H. Harris Activity Awards have been established to encourage students to participate in CCMTA activities with a special concentration on composition. Funding for the awards has been made possible through the generosity of Pat Wickey. The awards will be administered by the Activity Awards Committee.

This scholarship is established in memory of all Cypress Creek Music Teachers Association members who have passed away.

To honor the dedicated Student Affiliate graduating senior who has participated in any or all of the many Student Affiliate activities at the District or State level.

To provide a $500 scholarship to a graduating senior for further study in a music field.

To award $100 to each graduating senior who has continued his/her music study through the past six academic years up to and including the senior year.

CCMTA, believing that music has benefits for mankind far beyond its entertainment value, has set aside $400 a year with the option to increase or decrease said amount, depending upon current interest rates, to help support those individuals and/or institutions who are working in music education as therapy, or who have established programs of music therapy.
