CCMTA Festival: Thanks in advance for making the CCMTA Festival a
success! The festival will be held at the Cypress Creek Christian Community
Center on Saturday, April 3rd. Master lists and fees are due at the CCMTA
meeting on February 17th. Enclosed is a revised master list form which will make
it much faster and easier to schedule the festival.
No late entries will be accepted, although critique sheets for students already
entered may be turned in as late as March 20th.

E-Mail Changes: Please make the following changes in your
Yearbook:
Dorothy Kirkpatrick

Robert Erickson
surferrob6551@sbcglobal.net
We urge you to correct your Yearbook, but if you didn’t and have an e-mail to
one of our members returned, check out the Membership List on our website www.ccmta.org You’ll find the
up-to-date one there.
Need Students for Masterclass: Program Chairman Dorothy
Kirkpatrick is asking for one student from three different teachers to
participate in a masterclass at 11:00 AM on March 9th: one high school student
with a piece memorized and almost ready for performance, and two middle school
students who are somewhat advanced. Please contact her immediately for this
opportunity to appear with Dr. Leslie Spotz from Tarleton State University of
Stephenville.
From Your President: “Roses are Red, Violets are Blue, Do
something special for your
Sugar is Sweet, and do sweetie this month, as it is
we have to do this again?” the “love” month.
Urgent message for the February general meeting: We will be voting
on whether or not to have the Piano Contest Winners Recital and perhaps others
of our events televised on family channel PAX 49 (Channel 7 on Warner Cable).
You will want to be there to be a part of this vital discussion. Upward, and
onward.
Thanks for your attendance at the January meeting. I do believe that it was a
record. The program was fabulous, and we could have gone another hour, I am
sure. Julia Kruger has already written to thank us for having her. She
thoroughly enjoyed the meeting.
The February program will be Linda Anthony, and her unique ideas for our
studios. Come and enjoy her wonderful suggestions to “spruce up things” for your
students.
"Every Child Can!" - An Introduction to Suzuki Education: CCMTA member Andrea
Cannon would like to announce a Suzuki Training Course coming up soon. If you
have heard about Suzuki teaching and are interested in getting the facts, this

The new Course was designed by the Suzuki Association as the first required step
in the process of Teacher Training. This course is not instrument-specific and
is open to teachers, parents and interested supporters of music and education.
Class size is limited to thirty people, so it is an exciting, hands-on type of
learning experience. (NOTE: 6 hours of In-Service Credit is available to
school-district personnel.)

Furthermore...
Colleen Bell ran the Houston Marathon (her first one) and
finished! Congratulations!….
Gena Hughey broke her right foot in a bathtub accident, but was observed
expertly pedalling the piano with her slippered left foot—amazing!
