PLACE: Home of Colleen Bell
TIME: 10:00 AM to 11:30 AM
GUEST: CCMTA MEMBERS
PROGRAM: CHRISTMAS PARTY

You are cordially invited to a Christmas party given by Linda Anthony and Colleen Bell, at the home of Colleen Bell. The enclosed map will guide you there, and you need bring only yourself—treats will be provided by our generous hosts. We believe the date is early enough that you won’t be too caught up in holiday preparations quite yet. Set aside an hour and a half so that we can celebrate together.

While there will be no business meeting, we’re listing the January deadlines here (and will again in the January newsletter) just to keep you on your toes.

Leadership Crisis for Ensembles: Ensemble Chairman Dorothy Kirkpatrick chose the music and has received approval from TMTA for two ensembles, one for younger students, the other for middle students, and she was planning to direct both. However, she now finds that there is a family wedding which she must attend that falls on the same weekend as the convention. In short, we need one or two directors. It involves two weeks of local rehearsals, usually at our H&H meeting place, and a dress rehearsal and performance at the convention in San Antonio the second weekend of June. Please contact President Becky May if you can step in, and if you’ve never experienced the ensembles, she can tell you all about them and what an exciting time it is for the students and for the director.

Yearbook Addition: Nancy Lawson would like to add her cell phone number to her listing: (281) 793-9518. She also noticed that the name of her subdivision isn’t quite right—it should be Colony Creek.

Yard Signs Still Available: We’re continuing to sell yard signs; there’s no deadline. By the way, they make great Christmas gifts! If you need more order forms, contact Becky May.

Message From the President: MERRY CHRISTMAS AND HAPPY NEW YEAR! Has another year gone by? I do hope that all of you enjoy your holidays, your time off from teaching, and, most of all, time with family, friends and loved ones. Hope to see you all at our December 7th Christmas party!

JoAnne Griffith on Board of CCCCC: Cypress Creek Christian Community Center invited us to place one of our members on their board as the revolving board member for one year. They meet four times a year on Tuesday nights. JoAnne Griffith volunteered, and we’re honored to have her represent CCMTA.

Piano Contest Music—Another reminder: Be careful when you pick up the music at the Music Rack that you get those set aside for CCMTA and not CMTA (Conroe).

Furthermore. . . Student of Rebecca S. May, Na Young Coogle, age 13, was chosen for a free piano lesson on Friday, November 19th, with concert artist Lang Lang at the Wortham Center. She was chosen on the basis of an essay explaining her piano experience. She was also asked to perform in the lobby of the Wortham Center prior to the evening concert. Congratulations to the young lady! It was an exciting time for her, her family, and her teacher.
