July 2005 NEWSLETTERDATE: September 20, 2005 PLACE: H&H Music, 713 FM 1960 W. TIME: 9:30 AM — Board Meeting 10:15 AM — CCMTA Meeting 11:00 AM — Program Repertoire List: There will be a regular newsletter in September, after the Council and Board planning meetings in August, with details about coming events. For now, the Piano Contest Repertoire list, prepared by Chairman Janice VanDerbur and her committee, is enclosed so that you can start your students on their pieces. Most of them should already be at the Music Rack, but you might want to call ahead to make sure. Be Sure You’re in Our Directory: To be certain that you are listed in the Yearbook Membership Directory, please pay your dues no later than August 15th. It takes time for local MTA’s to receive word back from MTNA and TMTA that you have paid, and we don’t want to leave anyone out. We are hoping to have the Yearbook printed early this year so that you can all have the calendar, as well as those forms you will need by the first meeting date. Also, be sure your listing is still the same—address, phone number, e-mail. Please send any changes to the editor: Doris Erickson (see box at end of this newsletter). I am in charge of the membership list, both in the Yearbook and on the website. New Manager at H&H Music: The man who replaced Roger Branum at our meeting place on FM 1960, John Rice, has moved on after a brief tenure. The new manager is Pace Thorne, and we welcome him and look forward to a pleasant and enduring relationship. Furthermore. . . Our president, Dorothy Kirkpatrick, is in Alaska; our 2nd vice president, Colleen Bell, is in Sri Lanka, and our member-at-large, Andrea Cannon, has been to El Salvador, Canada, and several of these United States. These are only the ones I’ve heard of. I hope everybody comes back rested or, if not rested, at least refreshed from a change of pace. |
