Reminder: MTNA Conference in Austin March 25 through 29, 2006. Please notify me or TMTA President, Sherry Frush immediately if you are attending the Gala Monday evening, March 27 so she can have you seated at the TMTA table. I personally plan to be at the conference Saturday and Sunday. Let me know who else is going so we can get together.
I need to know if anyone is attending the Texas Music Educators Conference February 15-18 in San Antonio.
VOTE in the upcoming MTNA and TMTA elections!
Please submit volunteer hours and events that you have been involved in.
Plan to attend the TMTA Annual Convention in Grapevine, Texas in June. We will be discussing our ad for the program at the meeting. Check out the tmta.org webpage for information to pre-register. Convention Pre-registration Deadline is May 20. Register early. Early registration is $55.00, late is $80.00 Guests are $10.00. Convention Housing is $99.00 per room (flat rate regardless of number in room). Call 1-800-233-1234 for room reservations. The location is at the DFW Airport and is close to Six Flags and many other family themed parks and entertainment if the convention isn't enough to keep you busy. Volunteers will be needed to serve as monitors etc. Students are needed to serve as pages. Find out how TMTA operates by participating.
Remember our foundations. MTNA Foundation annually awards teachers and students of TMTA thousands of dollars through grants and awards. TMTEF annually awards over $30,000 to students. Consider donating to either or both of these wonderful foundations. Don't forget to use your Remarkable Randall's card with the number 11200 when you shop at Randall's or Albertsons with the number 49001001661.
Fargason Fund donation: It is time to consider our contribution for the Fargason Fund. We are asked to contribute $4.00 per local association member in order to be listed in the Convention program book. $5.00 Trustee challenge will send $1.00 to the Student Travel Fund.
Do you know a teacher who should be nominated for the TMTA Teacher Recognition Awards? Please nominate that person at the February meeting so we can get the form in. The deadline is March 1.

Soon to be posted is a survey of some of today's most popular piano teaching methods. Add your favorite teaching piece for this month. Keep the home page current!
We will be discussing the repertoire requirements for the CCMTA Piano Contest for 2006-07. Attend the meeting and stay tuned for developments in all areas.
