TMTA Local Performance Contest: There will be some changes for 2007-2008. Please read page 21 in “Texas Music Teacher With Student Affiliate” very carefully. Also study the guidelines on the state website— www.tmta.org for these contests generally, as well as details for this year in the TMTA Handbook, pages 36 to 43. All applications must be typed; no handwritten applications will be accepted. Please call or email me with any questions.

Sharon Peng, Performance Contest Chairman

CMTA Solo & Ensemble Competition: The brand new CCMTA Solo & Ensemble Competition will be held on 4/19 Saturday at Cypress Creek Christian Community Center. The deadline for entries is February meeting. However since this is a new event, the committee would like interested teachers to provide an estimate of entries to chairman Linda Herring by the January meeting. This will help to ensure we have enough rooms for this new event. If you will not be able to attent the January meeting, please email lindasherring@comcast.net or call 281-586-7562 to provide your estimate of entries. Thank you very much for your help to make this new event successful.

Linda Herring, Chairman

Furthermore. . . Dorothy Kirkpatrick hosted a delightful open house Christmas party, complete with program. About 20 members attended, and all agreed it was a very lovely farewell to 2007.
