Harris Activity Awards: We hope a lot of you teachers are planning on entering students in CCMTA’s 6th Annual Harris Activity Cash Awards Competition. The deadline for entries is April 15, which is only about a month and a half away. Cash awards totaling $500.00, and broken down in the manner described on page 57 of our yearbook, will be presented to the top achievers in this year’s competition. In addition, all other participants who qualify for entry by meeting at least the minimal number of required points will receive special honorable mention recognition for their noteworthy efforts as well. (Reminder: The minimal number of points necessary for enrollment is 14 points for grades 1-8, and 17 points for grades 9-12.) All entries and supporting materials must be in the hands of the chairman on or before April 15. The Application Form/Point Breakdown Sheet for the awards may be found on page 58 of our yearbook—as well as on our website under CCMTA Scholarships and Awards. If there are any further questions or concerns related to the awards, feel free to contact chairman Don Harris by email or phone. (Emails preferred over calls when possible.) (donhharris@charter.net - 281-367-4473) Funding for these very special awards was made possible through an Endowment Fund set up by Pat Wickey, CCMTA’s first President. We are most appreciative and grateful to Pat and her family for enabling us to add such motivating and truly unique awards to our annual student opportunities for musical growth. Furthermore. . . I guess no news is good news. I haven’t heard a peep from anybody! |
