CCMTA Contest Winners 2001

TMTA Original Composition Winners
   Wade Strohbeck won Honorable Mention in the Solo Division S5 for his composition “Cannons at Fort Ticonderoga.”
   He is a student of Linda Anthony.

   Jennifer Thurber won Honorable Mention won the Solo Division S10-12 for her composition “Independence Forever”.
   She is a student of Linda Anthony.

TMTA Local Performance Contest Winners
   Luke Voight was selected as a local winner for the Piano Solo Division 7-8.
   Luke Voight is a student of Doris Lum.

   Jennifer Thurber and Richard Rector were selected as local winners for Piano Solo Division 11-12.
   Jennifer Thurber is a student of Linda Anthony and Richard Rector is a student of Doris Lum.

   Greer Sims was selected as a local winner for the Instrumental Solo Division 7-8. Her performance instrument is classical guitar.
   She is a student of Andrea Cannon.

   Maryanna Cannon and Talia Milbourn were selected as winners for the Instrumental Solo Division 11-12.
   They both play classical guitar and are students of Andrea Cannon.

   The Instrumental winners will proceed directly to the State Performance Contest held during the TMTA state convention.

   The Piano Solo local winners proceeded to the TMTA District Contest.

TMTA District Performance Contest Winners
   Luke Voight was selected as the Piano Solo Performance District Two 7-8 winner.
   He will perform at the State Performance Contest held during the TMTA State Convention.

   Richard Rector was selected as a winner for the Concerto-Performance Contest District Two 11-12.
   He will perform at the State Performance Contest in June.

   4th place Jeanna Darnell Student of Brad Love

Senior Division
   1st place Richard Rector Student of Doris Lum
   2nd place Ann Lambert Student of Diane Delk
   3rd place Julie Huang Student of Janice Van Derbur
   4th place Kristin Shaffer Student of Barbara Cowen

   Each student was awarded a check at the annual CCMTA May Luncheon where they performed their winning pieces.

Memorial Summer Camp Scholarship Winner
   David Worrell was selected to receive the Memorial Summer Camp Scholarship. He will attend the camp of his choice this summer. He was chosen by a scholarship committee after reading his 200 word essay on the subject “Why I want to go to Summer Music Camp”, and after hearing his audition tape containing 2 pieces from contrasting periods.

CCMTA Scholarship Award
   David Worrell was also selected to receive the CCMTA Scholarship. This is a $500 scholarship that will be presented to him at his graduation ceremony. David met all of the requirements in order to be eligible for the scholarship.
