CCMTA Contest Winners 2002





TMTA Original Composition Winners

 
Jennifer Thurber won 3rd place in the 10-12 Solo Division with her composition entitled “The Young Man and the Fickle Woman.     

Wade Strohbeck won Honorable Mention in the 6-7 Solo Division with his composition “The Heavy Load”

Nhu-Mai Nguyen won Honorable Mention in the 6-7 Solo Division with her composition “The Big and Little Splash”

  

TMTA Local Performance Contest Winners

 
Jennifer Thurber won the Piano Solo Grades 11-12 and represented CCMTA in the District contest.

Greer Sims won the Instrumental Solo-Division 11-12 and represented CCMTA in the TMTA State Performance Contest.

       

H&H Baldwin Scholarship Winners

 
Junior Division


Alex Caire won 1st place and performed the Toccata by Khachaturian at the annual CCMTA May Luncheon.


Jenny Huang won 2nd place and performed Op. 12 No. 6 from the Twelve American Preludes by Ginastera.


Stephanie Loredo won 3rd place and performed Sonata in e minor Hob. XVI:34 Presto Movement by Haydn.

Senior Division


Jennifer Thurber won 1st place and performed Prelude in G# minor Op. 32, No. 12 by Rachmaninoff at the annual CCMTA May Luncheon.


Vivian Tang won 2nd place and performed the Toccata by Khachaturian.


Julie Huang won 3rd place and performed the Impromptu Op. 28, No. 3 by Reinhold.


Alan Strassner won 4th place and performed Allegro Barbaro by Bartok. 

  

Memorial Summer Camp Scholarship Winner


Allie Rathert won the Memorial Camp Scholarship this year.  She wrote an essay and sent in an audition tape with two contrasting pieces.  She will get to choose the summer camp that she will attend this year.

 

CCMTA Scholarship Award


Jennifer Thurber won the $500 CCMTA Scholarship.  She is a student of Linda Anthony, and has been active as a Student Affiliate member of CCMTA for several years.  She will be attending Brigham Young University in the fall.
