Grades 1 through 8: Texas/American Composer Program
Grades 9 through 12: High School Program
Requirements:
SA membership
Students must pass the State Theory Test
Memorization of required music
Furnishing required costume
Attendance at all rehearsals and performance at Student’s expense.
Deadline:
January 15, 2008
Application:
Complete application in yearbook.
Tryout Date:
To be announced. Students will be asked to audition for places on each ensemble. They must be prepared to perform the piece at the tryout, but not from memory at this time. Parents will be asked to sign a commitment agreement at the audition site.
Dress Rehearsal:
Friday or Saturday of TMTA Convention (see calendar)
Performance:
Friday, Saturday, or Sunday (see calendar for convention dates and location)
Fee:
$15 Parents and guests of performers attend concerts free of charge.
Rehearsals:
Students will be required to attend rehearsals during the last two weeks prior to the concerts. Absences from rehearsals will be excused at the sole discretion of the director. A student may be excluded from participation for insufficient rehearsal at the director’s discretion, following a conference with the teacher.
