CCMTA Scholarship


Purpose: To provide a $500 scholarship to a graduating Senior for further study in a music field. The membership may vote to increase the amount if the budget allows

Format: Students will fulfill all requirements listed. An outside judge will select the recipient. There will be a committee chairman to receive all applications and keep each application anonymous.

Age: Required to be a graduating senior

Deadline: April meeting (see calendar)

Application: Printed in yearbook

Performance: Winner will be invited to perform at our May Awards Ceremony.

Award: Scholarship will be presented at the May Awards Ceremony.

To be eligible the following requirements must be met:

1. Student must be accepted by an accredited college, university, or conservatory for undergraduate study in a music related field. Submit a copy of acceptance letter from the Music Dept.

2. tudent must submit taped audition to include 3 selections from three different styles/periods. Tapes will not be returned.

3. Student must submit a 250 word essay containing the following information:

A. Significance of music in his/her life;
B. Professional plans.


4. High school transcript must accompany application.

5. Student must submit 3 letters of recommendation:

A. School teacher or counselor
B. Adult other than relative who knows student well (minister, employer, etc.)
C. Private music teacher.


6. Teacher must be a member of CCMTA.

In the event there is no eligible senior, no scholarship will be awarded.
