TMTA-SA Whitlock Memorial Scholarship Award
SA State Participation Award



Purpose: To honor the dedicated Student Affiliate graduating senior who has participated in any or all of the many Student Affiliate activities at the District or State level.

Application: Any graduating high school senior who has participated in the programs of TMTA/SA may apply for either of both awards if he/she has accumulated the minimum number of points for each award. No one student may receive both awards, though qualified students should apply for both. Those who qualify for top prizes in both categories will receive the award with the highest monetary value.

Requirements: All Student Affiliate teachers are to keep a record of a student’s activities, including originals of tests, certificates and programs. Please refer to your TMTA-SA Handbook for details.

Whitlock Memorial Scholarship Award
This award is given to any graduating high school senior who has accumulated at least one hundred points through achievement in Student Affiliate activities during grades 9-12. After all applications are collected from all over the State of Texas, the students with the highest points receive the following:

First Place      Engraved plaque, $300.00 plus $1 for every point earned.
Second Place  $200.00 plus $1 for every point earned.
Third Place     $100.00 plus $0.75 for every point earned

Student Affiliate State Participation Award
Student Affiliate State Participation Award This award is given to any graduating high school senior who has accumulated at least twenty points by participating in Student Affiliate activities during grades 1-12. After all applications are collected from all over the State of Texas, the student with the highest points receives the following:

First Place      An engraved plaque and $300.00
Second Place  $250.00
Third Place     $200.00

Honorable Mention Prizes for Each Award
A $100.00 cash award will be given to any student eligible for either award who does not receive first, second, or third place; however, only one $100.00 cash award will be given for either Whitlock or State Participation award, even though a student may have achieved the minimum points for both awards. Certificates will be awarded to all students who earned the required minimum points for either or both awards.
All recipients of the top three and honorable mention prizes of each award will be recognized at the state convention in June.
